Academic Transition
Nervous about returning to the classroom? Do you want to maximize your college experience to prepare for your future career or graduate school goals? North Central College offers you support and resources. With small class sizes and easy access to faculty outside the classroom, you’ll find that North Central College is a great place to make the transition from boots to books. North Central College’s chapter of SALUTE national honor society offers additional academic recognition by encouraging student veterans to strive for academic success and recognizes individual accomplishments.
If you need more specialized support, the Center for Student Success can assist. You’ll also find that the many research and internship opportunities make North Central College an attractive place to put your leadership experience to work while gaining valuable skills for the future.

As a student at North Central College you’ll also have opportunities to network with alumni, access outstanding medical and counseling care through the Dyson Wellness Center, and seek assistance in choosing a major and or finding an internship or job. As a Yellow Ribbon institution, North Central has worked hard to make sure that you and all our student veterans are welcomed and supported.
Financial Aid
North Central's financial aid staff is prepared to help you maximize your military benefits to make a private college education affordable and accessible. They understand that veteran’s financial aid needs are unique to each student and will assist you in compiling an individualized financial aid package.
Our staff is available to personally walk you through the Post 9/11 GI Bill®* and the Yellow Ribbon tuition benefits in addition to any eligible grants, scholarships or loans. These benefits can be used to cover tuition, fees, books and living expenses.

If there is a delay in VA payments that may cause an economic hardship to you and your family, North Central College also offers an emergency loan program to ensure you have the funding needed to cover living expenses.
Veterans Affairs Pending Payment Compliance
North Central College will not take any of the four following actions toward any student using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Ch. 33)1 or Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while their payment from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs is pending to the educational institution:
- Prevent the student from enrolling
- Assess a late penalty fee to the student
- Require the student to secure alternative and/or additional funding
- Deny the student access to attending due to pending payment
In order to qualify for this provision, the student should produce the VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE) by applicable required financial payment dates. VA students must notify the financial aid department each academic year of their intent to use their benefits for certification purpose and provide additional information necessary to the proper certification of enrollment by North Central College.
Tuition, fees, and other costs are equitable for all students, regardless of veteran status.
