I was born in McCook, Nebraska but grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I have been at North Central my entire professional life and continue to marvel at how much the College has changed over the years. We have grown from around 900 to nearly 3,000 students and vastly increased the quality and breadth of our academic offerings.
After arriving at North Central, I developed an interest in the history and philosophy of science and of mathematics. I created and teach two undergraduate and three graduate courses related to the history of science and mathematics. I am an active member of the Mathematical Association of America and serve as a reviewer for MAA Reviews.
As Director of the Lederman and Community Scholars Program I advise pre-college students who enroll in regular North Central College courses. In addition, I organize and supervise the offering of the AMC 8, 10, and 12 exams on our campus. These exams offer middle and high school students a chance to compete at the highest level in mathematics.
