At North Central College’s 152nd Commencement June 10, 694 students were awarded bachelor’s degrees and 117 received master’s degrees to the cheers of thousands of family, friends and faculty. The Class of 2017 now joins a network of more than 27,000 North Central alumni worldwide.

North Central College has successfully acquired the Shimer Great Books program of Shimer College and will integrate the program into North Central’s campus in Naperville, Ill.

North Central College and U.S. Congressman Bill Foster will host an open forum on the topic of climate change May 6 at the College’s Science Center, 131 S. Loomis Street in Naperville. Tom Skilling, chief meteorologist at WGN, is a featured speaker.

A crowd of more than 200 people representing North Central College, the community and the region streamed into the new Science Center at 8 a.m. Monday morning for their first look at classrooms, labs, gathering spaces and Au Bain Pan café.
