The Office of Multicultural Affairs, in collaboration with the Center for Social Impact, Office of Faith & Action, Dyson Wellness Center and Project Re-Connect, is excited to host Anti-Hate Week from October 26-30, 2020. Anti-Hate Week is a week-long campaign designed to educate and raise awareness about various forms of oppression and discrimination. Monday, October 26
12PM:
 Protest Series (Center for Social Impact): The Center is proud to present The Protest Series, a podcast format discussion led by students Haven Denson and Milia Harris.  They will discuss why we protest, how we stay resilient, and how we remain unified in the fight for change.

3PM-4:30PMZoom: Anti-Racism Training, Session I (Bias Education Team): Dr. Rebecca Gordon and Dorothy Pleas will be facilitating the first session of the Bias Education Team’s new Anti-Racism Training series, with the first session focused on providing a foundation of terminology and definitions, social identities, and an overview of what anti-racism means. #ChooseEmpathy Campaign (Center for Social Impact + Faith & Action): Faith and Action and the Center for Social Impact are coming together to launch a digital campaign, #ChooseEmpathy. The offices will take to Instagram to define empathy, explain its intricacies, call us to action, and ask participants to reflect on how they #ChooseEmpathy in our own lives. 12:30PM, Microsoft Teams: A Support Group for Black Students – How to Take Care of Yourself While Fighting for Change (Dyson Wellness Center):

3PM-4:30PM, Zoom: Anti-Racism Training, Session II & CHIRP Dialogue Training (Bias Education Team)
: Stephania Rodriguez and Kamelotte Gregory will be facilitating the second session of the Bias Education Team’s new Anti-Racism Training series, with the second session focused on skills for having dialogue across difference and dealing with microaggressions. Thursday, October 29  
6PM-8:30PM, Zoom Movie Screening (Project Re-Connect & Muslim Student Association):

Friday, October 30
12PM-1PM: Self-Care for Activists (Center for Social Impact):
 To end the week, join us at the Center for Social Impact (40 E. Jefferson Avenue) for some hot chocolate and resources on the porch. This event will be the official launch of the ARC (Activism Resource Center on the Hub). Come chat with fellow activists, allies, and advocates and get tips on how to take care of yourself during the fight for change.
