North Central’s Virtual Commencement Makes Headlines
May 01, 2020
The College adds personal touch to virtual ceremony for its graduates
North Central College will celebrate its Class of 2020 graduates in a special way: By inviting each graduate to select a College faculty, staff member or coach who had a profound impact on them to record a personalized video of themselves reading the graduate's name for the virtual commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 3. This honor--given the unprecedented circumstances of this spring's commencement due to the COVID-19 pandemic--celebrates the strong bonds that form between North Central students and their mentors at the College during their time on campus.
Hearing their name read aloud is a milestone moment for any graduate, and having their favorite faculty, staff member or coach read their name will make the moment particularly meaningful. To date, more than 605 students have selected over 200 faculty, staff members or coaches to record personalized videos.
