North Central professor Charles selected for ambassadorial post with U.S. Department of State

Dr. Quanisha Charles, associate professor of English, has been selected by the U.S. Department of State as an alumni ambassador for English Language Programs. She is one of only 10 English Language Program alumni chosen to be part of the 2024-25 Alumni Ambassador cohort. More details are available in the article in the Chicago Tribune. Charles has had en eventful summer. Earlier this year she co-published with North Central student Malika Nazyrbekova '27 in EnglishUSA Journal. Their study examines the benefits of a classroom activity in which students converse with international partners in order to foster learning about each of their cultures. Nazyrbekova, a first-year computer science major at North Central, offered unique perspective as an international student from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Read more at the link to the article.
