Dr. David Green to begin as dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship July 1

North Central College has named David Green, PhD, as dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. His appointment is effective July 1, 2024. Dr. Green is currently the division chair of accounting, finance, management information systems, and economics, and professor of management information systems, at Governors State University (GSU) in University Park, Ill. He is an active scholar with more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His areas of expertise include insider threats to information security, human computer interaction, and business and information systems education.
“Dr. Green is a highly respected researcher, educator, and administrator who will have an immediate impact on our students, faculty and staff in the College’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship,” said Abiódún Gòkè-Pariolá, North Central’s provost and vice president for academic affairs. “He is a collaborative and innovative leader who understands and appreciates the importance of interdisciplinary studies, which is at the heart of a North Central College education. I’m pleased to welcome Dr. Green to the Cardinal community and am thankful to all who participated in the national search to bring him to our campus.”
In his 16 years at Governors State, Dr. Green has engaged deeply in the College of Business’ ongoing AACSB accreditation, strategic planning initiatives, and assurance of learning efforts. He helped lead GSU’s recent development of a master’s degree program in the emerging field of business analytics, which uses data analytics to develop insights and drive innovation in business.

Prior to GSU, Dr. Green was a data analysis consultant in the fields of business and academia, and he served as assistant professor of computer information systems at Morehead State University (MSU) in Morehead, Ky., from 2005 – 2007. Dr. Green holds a PhD in business administration from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He earned his MBA in management information systems and his BBA in computer information systems; business and marketing education from MSU.
