Summer camps are back in action this summer at North Central College
May 19, 2021
The College is offering a wide range of sports camps for area residents and their families
After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, young athletes from around the region will once again take to the fields and courts at North Central College this summer. The College has opened camp registration for kids and teens ages 7-18 for a range of sports, including baseball, basketball, cheer, football and soccer. To view the full list of camp options, and to register, go to northcentralcollege.edu/athletic-camps.
All camps will be held within North Central College’s NCAA-caliber facilities—including Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium and Zimmerman Baseball Field—and will be directed by professional North Central College coaches, with additional support from camp counselors that include several of the College’s NCAA Division III athletes. Cardinal sports camps present a unique opportunity for campers of all ability levels to have fun while learning from some of the area’s best coaches and athletes.
“One of the most rewarding things we’re able to do as a College is open our doors to the community each summer through our summer camp program,” said Ken Hannah, North Central College’s interim director of conference services and camps. “The College has developed a great plan for this summer that includes many of our most popular sports camps, and we can’t wait to see many future Cardinals back enjoying our facilities and learning from our coaches. After running a limited camp schedule this summer, we’re looking forward rolling out a full slate of academic, fine arts and athletics camps for summer 2022.”
As part of its commitment to providing a high-quality camp experience that prioritizes the health and safety of all campers and staff members, the College has developed summer camp health and safety procedures that include required face coverings for all staff, campers and family members while on College property (except when actively eating or drinking); social distancing when appropriate; daily self-screening for COVID-related symptoms; and camp and venue capacity restrictions based on health department guidance.
