Meet Our Camp Directors

Mahesh Narayanan

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: completed his 25th year as head women's cross country coach and assistant women's track and field coach at North Central College in 2024-25. He has guided the Cardinals to unprecedented success in cross country while earning multiple honors for his contributions to North Central's track and field success as the program's distance coach. Three NCAA Division III National Championship appearances and Six CCIW Team Championships! 

What can participants look forward to in regard to your camp or workshop? 
This is a jump start to summer training! Learn basic training concepts and get a general understanding of running while having fun!
 

Vincenzo Fuschino

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: Men’s Soccer Head Coach since 2019. Fuschino comes to Naperville after a distinguished coaching tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, which followed successful stints as a head coach at the high school, club and Olympic Development Program (ODP) levels. Has posted a record of 71-16-16 in his Cardinal coaching career!

What can participants look forward to in regard to your camp or workshop?
We offer a variety of drills and fun activities to help develop new soccer skills and friendships. We also want to share our love for the world’s greatest game with our campers!
 

Andrew Gamarra

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: Women’s Soccer Head Coach since 2016. Gamarra has compiled a 71-48-12 record at the helm for the Cardinals, making him the winningest coach in program history. In 2023, North Central won its first-ever CCIW Regular Season Championship and CCIW Tournament Title, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals set a school record of 18 wins in a season, including a 15-match unbeaten streak while scoring 91 goals, the second most in Division III! Gamarra played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (2006-07) and Carthage College (2008-09). He graduated from Carthage in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in business administration before earning a master's degree in education from Carthage. 

What can participants look forward to in regard to your camp or workshop? 
Summer is a great time to enjoy soccer! With the nice weather, and the opportunity to practice outside together, it is the perfect chance for campers to have fun playing their sport, getting to know others, and improving their skillsets.

Joe Norton

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: Women’s Wrestling Head Coach since 2019. In the first five years of the program, Norton led the Cardinals to 48 dual wins, 52 All-Americans, 34 NWCA Scholar All-American honors, six individual national championships, and a Team National Championship in 2023! Norton won the NWCA Women's Coach of the National Tournament, a two-time NCWWC's Northwest Regional Women's Coach of the Year, and earned the NWCA Women's Coach of the National Tournament in both 2022 and 2023. He is also a four-time CCIW Coach of the Year! 

What can participants look forward to in regard to your camp or workshop? 
We run training sessions led by our returning national championship coaching staff. Campers have the unique opportunity to unleash their potential and refine their skills with the best in the business! This is your chance to elevate your wrestling game!

Vince Kmiec

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: Men’s Basketball Head Coach since 2023. Kmiec was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter for North Central from 2010-2014, finishing his career as the program's all-time leader in steals (173) and free-throw percentage (.830) while ranking third in three-pointers made (167). 

What can participants look forward to in regard to your camp or workshop?
We focus on skill development, and we host games that foster both collaboration with others and a love for the sport! 

 

Connor Christman

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: Men’s Baseball Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Since 2023. As an undergraduate at Butler University (Indianapolis, Ind.), Christman was part of the Bulldog's Baseball team from 2016-2020. He was named team captain by his coaches and teammates and mentored his teammates with balancing the student-athlete life. He was also named on the Big East All-Academic Team in 2019 and 2020.

What are you looking most in regard to your camp or workshop?
We work with youth campers to teacher them all aspects of baseball. Join us this summer to improve your baseball skills while having fun!

 

Ray Gooden

Describe your role at North Central College and how long you have been in role: Women's Volleyball Head Coach since 2024. In his first year with the Cardinals, North Central posted a 22-8 overall record with a fourth-place finish in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. Four Cardinals earned All-CCIW accolades! Gooden came to North Central after serving as the head women's volleyball coach at Northern Illinois University from 2002 to 2022, winning five Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Division Titles, three MAC Regular Season Championships, and the MAC Tournament Championship in 2016. The five-time MAC Coach of the Year won 357 matches, the most in program history. Over his 20 years with the Huskies, he coached four American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans, two Academic All-Americans, and an NCAA Woman of the Year finalist! In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Gooden works as an open program tryout evaluator and the High Performance head coach for USA Volleyball. 

What are you looking most in regard to your camp or workshop?
We will instruct campers the fundamentals of volleyball while having fun!
