iCons, or Interdisciplinary Connections, are a collection of courses that share a focus on a timely and pressing theme or problem. You will choose 16 credit hours from these courses to create the basis of your general education curriculum. iCon coursework is distinct but complementary to your major studies and will provide a firm foundation in the liberal arts that is at the heart of a fine college education. At the same time, your iCon will help you think about issues relevant to our world from different disciplinary perspectives and prepare you to engage with that world into the future.

Thinking Globally
Globalization in the 21st century continues to fuel many new political, economic, social, and technological developments. Thinking Globally examines international issues, cultural values, and the relationship between local and global concerns across time to help students successfully engage in diverse cultural situations. Students develop global awareness and competence, broaden cross-cultural understanding, and expand knowledge and skills needed to live and work in an increasingly interdependent world.
