Eric L. Armstrong Sr., MBA

 

A native of the southside of Chicago, Eric has worked in higher education for 18 years in various capacities from admissions to the registrar, to academic advising and for the past 12 years, working with student veterans, commuter students and underrepresented communities. Throughout his higher education career, he has added student conduct and Title IX to the list of duties to partner with departments outside of his purview.  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2003 and deployed into Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001 and deployed to Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Eric holds an M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management and a bachelor's in science and technical management (human resources concentration) from DeVry University. He is completing his dissertation at Northern Illinois University for an Ed.D. in the Higher Education Student Affairs program. He loves working with students and can be found interacting with students on a daily basis on campus. Connecting with students to create a sense of belonging is one of his core beliefs. Eric has an open-door policy for all students who need to talk or exchange ideas that would help all students at North Central College.  He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and a charter member of Tau Nu Sigma chapter serving the western suburbs of Chicago.  He is a member of DuPage AME Church, which has a strong connection to the Cardinal community. Eric currently lives in Aurora and is married to Dr. Carmen Armstrong and they have two amazing children, Camille and Eric Jr.
