Anna plans to work in community relations for a sports team or park district after she graduates. “I added a leadership minor to my sport management major to enhance my ability to work with others and be as efficient and successful as possible. Leadership can be paired with any major,” she says.
On campus, Anna has had plenty of opportunities to develop her leadership skills. She served in an advisory role on a student athlete committee, conducted research, and worked in the College’s Leadership, Ethics and Values office. In addition, her professors “have become long-term mentors. They’ve helped shape me as a person and helped me recognize my academic and career potential.”
Anna likes that her leadership classes didn’t try to change who she was. “They teach you how to best use your personality to benefit groups and become successful at whatever you do.”
