Men’s basketball advances to the Elite Eight toward national championship

The third-ranked North Central men’s basketball team (27-3, with 16-0 at home) will compete in its first-ever national quarterfinal game on Friday, March 22, against Middlebury College (Vt.) in Salem, Va. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CDT.

The semifinal round will be played on Saturday, March 23, also in Salem. The 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship game takes place Sunday, April 7, in Atlanta.

If you plan to attend the games in person this weekend, tickets are available for purchase on campus, online or by phone. The North Central athletics office in Merner Field House has tickets for purchase, with cash and in person, during business hours through Wednesday morning. Good for all four quarterfinal games on Friday and both semifinal games on Saturday, tickets are $25/adults and $12.50/senior citizens, students and children. Tickets may also be purchased online through TicketMaster or by calling the Salem Civic Center box office at 540-375-3004.
