In honor of Earth Day and in preparation for Cornerstone Week, the College’s Office of Community Development and the Naperville Park District are looking for volunteers (students and student groups, faculty, staff) to roll up their sleeves and help clean the Riverwalk on Saturday, April 16.
The clean-up begins at 8:30 a.m. at Championship Plaza. Volunteers will receive free donuts and a 150th Celebration T-shirt. From there, volunteers will walk to the Dandelion fountain at the corner of Jackson Avenue and Webster Street at 9 a.m. for instructions from the Park District and Riverwalk staff. Rakes and gloves will be provided, but bring your own if you can.
At noon, pizza and food will be served for North Central volunteers. Documentation will be provided for those interested in using this as a service project. To make sure the College orders enough pizza for lunch, RSVP to Michael Squire at email@example.com or 630-637-5559.
North Central will be partnering with the Riverwalk to develop the southwest gateway connecting the campus to Fredenhagen Park and the Riverwalk as part of the Campus Beautification Project celebrating the College’s Sesquicentennial.
This event is weather permitting and will be cancelled if it’s raining or temperatures are below 40 degrees.
