Nicole Rivera, North Central College adjunct assistant professor of psychology, presented a session titled “Exploring Diversity in the First-Year College Experience” at the Diversity Research Symposium at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., Oct. 29. The conference was sponsored by Ball State’s Office of Institutional Diversity and the Department of Psychological Science.
Rivera’s presentation was based on her research at North Central related to the Premier Scholars program. She has taught classes for the Premier program the past three summers and is interested in questions related to contextual factors that influence learning.
Rivera is an educational psychologist and has been teaching at North Central for four years. She received a B.M. from Illinois State University and an M.S.Ed. and Ed.D. from Northern Illinois University.
