Mathieu, who is majoring in physical education with a minor in coaching, begins his new job this fall for the Naperville high school in Indian Prairie School District 204.
He’s played football at North Central College for four years, as the Cardinals earned four straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) football championships and appeared twice in the NCAA Division III playoffs.
He was a four-sport athlete at Victor J. Andrew High School, in Tinley Park, from where he graduated in 2008, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Neuqua Valley will face Waubonsie Valley Oct. 5 at North Central College’s Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium during the annual Prairie Classic high school rivalry football game.
