Jeannette Clark ’10 may be a new graduate in elementary education, but she’s no stranger to the education process, which is probably why she achieved the honor of 2010 Outstanding Major in Elementary Education. While raising her three children, Clark served for 16 years as a member of the Indian Prairie School District 204 Board of Education. After providing insightful leadership to one of Illinois’ largest school districts, she finished her undergraduate degree and is interviewing for teaching jobs. “I’ve learned that educators today need to be ready to teach all types of diverse learners, by bringing each student to the curriculum rather than bringing the curriculum to the students,” she says.
