Friday, September 12

8 - 9 a.m. New Student Move-In

All Residence Halls

The Cardinal Move-In Crew will help you get settled in your residence hall room.

Noon - 1 p.m. Commuter Student Check-In

Students who are commuting will check in and receive their new materials.

1 - 1:15 p.m. Welcome to North Central!

Come receive an official welcome from President Troy Hammond and receive an overview of the scheduled Orientation events.

1:15 - 1:50 p.m. Academic Adjustment

You will have the opportunity to obtain your student ID, and resident students will receive their campus mailbox and mail key.

Free for Students. Enjoy a night of music at The Union; a venue for social change. Our featured artist this Friday is Joshua James. His first two albums, 2007’s The Sun Is Always Brighter and 2009’s Build Me This, topped the year-end ‘Best of iTunes’ lists, while earning ecstatic praise from press like Paste Magazine and Esquire.  The Telegraph says of James "“With a hoarse, sweet voice than can fly from tremulous fragility to soulful roar, James brings a kind of grunge rock drive to rootsy folk, fueled by gloom existentialism and political rage." With his full band, we're excited to bring him to The Union for the very first time!

11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Chicago Excursion – Double-Decker Bus Tour!

Meet in front of Kaufman Dining Hall at 11 a.m. to walk together to the Metra train station.

Enjoy a double-decker bus tour of downtown Chicago and visit the famous Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and more. North Central College will provide train and bus fare, but be sure to bring spending money if you’d like to shop and eat.

11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Chicago Excursion – Museum of Science and Industry

Meet at the White Activities Center at 11 a.m.

Take a ride into the city and explore at the world famous Museum of Science and Industry. Take advantage of the bold science and interactive experiences and enjoy the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives. North Central College will provide admittance and travel fees.

1 - 4 p.m. NCC Olympics

Grab a team or come solo to sign up with a team for several fun and unique games. Prizes will be awarded for the winners.

Meet ministry and service student organization leaders and staff members for an informal breakfast and learn about the opportunities for involvement. After breakfast, rides and walking groups will be provided to a number of local churches.
