North Central College’s Summer Musical Theatre presents the Webber and Rice musical “Evita” June 20-22, 27-29 with actors from the community.

Actors from the community will perform in North Central College’s Summer Musical Theatre, featuring the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical “Evita” in June and features actors from the community.

Wynard and Walters ’14 give lecture on new state education mandates

Tammy Wynard, North Central College visiting instructor of health and physical education and coordinator of the health education and wellness programs, was invited by the Illinois School Health Association Board to present at the April 2014 annual conference held in Lombard. She, along with Alyssa Walters ’14, health and physical education major, spoke with more than 50 health education teachers and administrators about the new Illinois mandates in sexual health education.

North Central College recognized Ian Wright as the Outstanding Senior Man and Christina Richardson as the Outstanding Senior Woman for 2014 during the College’s annual Honors Convocation on May 13.

The annual awards recognize one senior man and one senior woman for their successes in the classroom, their involvement and contributions to the campus community outside the classroom, and their future potential.

North Central College welcomed U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) to campus Friday, May 16, for a roundtable discussion with students and alumni about student loan debt. The Senator has proposed new legislation, the Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act, to reduce interest rates on existing student loans and to lower their monthly payments.

2014 Honors Convocation award winners

North Central recognizes high-achieving students for academic and co-curricular excellence at the College’s 38th annual Honors Convocation.

On May 13, North Central College held its 38th annual Honors Convocation, an annual spring event that publicly celebrates student excellence in the academic and co-curricular life of the College.

New campus chaplain Rev. Eric Doolittle begins serving at North Central in July

North Central College names a new campus chaplain, the Rev. Eric Doolittle, who previously served as a university chaplain and United Methodist Church pastor.

North Central College has named a new campus chaplain, the Rev. Eric Doolittle. He will assume the role from the Rev. Dr. Lynn Pries ’67, who retires in June after 20 years of service as campus chaplain at North Central College.

An ordained elder in the United Methodist Church (UMC), Doolittle has served as a pastor in three UMC congregations in Tennessee and as chaplain at Hiwasee College in Madisonville, Tenn. Most recently, he was interim Protestant chaplain at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Cardinals host Softball Super Regional series May 16-17

North Central College hosts its NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional series vs. University of St. Thomas (Minn.) Friday & Saturday, May 16-17.

North Central College has been designated as the host site for its NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional series against the 13th-ranked University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Friday and Saturday, May 16-17.

All games in the best-of-three series will be played at North Central’s Shanower Family Field, 435 S. Loomis St. The first game will be played at 4 p.m. Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. start on Saturday. If a third game is necessary, it will be played at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
