The fifth annual Snow Bowl to benefit North Central College's Dr. Lora L. Tyson Education Curriculum Resource Center will take place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Brunswick Zone XL, 1515 W. Aurora Ave., Naperville.

North Central College students achieve Dean’s list honor for fall term

North Central College has named its 2014 fall term Dean’s List of full-time undergraduate scholars who have maintained a grade-point average of 3.6 or better.

North Central College has named its Dean’s List of scholars for the 2014 fall term. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, undergraduate students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.6 (4.0=A) for the term and be enrolled as full-time students.

North Central College has named Dr. Abiodun “GP” Goke-Pariola its next vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty.

Dr. Goke-Pariola will begin his new role at North Central College on July 1 after serving most recently as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina. He previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.

North Central College welcomes Riad Ismat as scholar-in-residence for the 2014-2015 academic year. Ismat will serve as visiting professor of arts and letters. He will teach courses in playwriting, acting and directing, besides lecturing on Syria, Arabic literature and drama.

A new residence hall on North Central College’s 65-acre campus will offer desirable suite-style housing for upperclassmen.

A new residence hall on North Central College’s 65-acre campus will offer desirable suite-style housing for upperclassmen.

The 229-bed residence hall is being built directly south of Ward and Patterson halls and across from Merner Field House and Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. The five-story residence hall—the College’s first since the Residence Hall/Recreation Center opened in 2009—is scheduled for completion by August 2015.
