North Central College supporters provide school supplies to low-income children

More than 100 low-income children will start school this fall with supplies paid for the sale of flowers at North Central College’s Commencement.

More than 100 low-income children will start school this year with supplies paid for by supporters of North Central College.

The College teamed up with Flowers for Dreams for the second straight year to raise money to buy school supplies for local needy students. Part of the proceeds from the sale of flowers at the College’s Commencement ceremony in June benefited Flowers for Dreams.

Bringing community resources to Junior/Senior Scholars

Alumnus Jon Howard ’12 recruited 14 Travelers Insurance employees as volunteers for Junior/Senior Scholars.

Jon Howard ’12 returned to campus in July to volunteer with Junior/Senior Scholars—and brought a whole team of volunteers with him. An associate account executive for Travelers Insurance in Naperville, Howard serves on the company’s community relations committee and recruited 14 volunteers to help out as judges for a science fair and forensics presentations by the scholars during the annual parents’ day program.
