North Central’s department of religious studies invites students, faculty and staff to attend any or all of the series of events this spring focusing on the contemplative dimension of human experience. Short presentations by practitioners from diverse traditions will be followed by contemplative exercises; participation in the exercises is entirely optional.

The following events will take place at 4 p.m. in room 36 at Goldspohn Hall:

During winter term, the department of religious studies and Dyson Wellness Center will continue hosting a series of nonreligious Mindfulness Meditation sessions at 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 11, Feb. 1 and 22, in Heininger Auditorium at the Larrance Academic Center. Students, faculty and staff are invited; no reservations are needed. Tatiana Sifri (photo), director of counseling at the Wellness Center, will lead each session. The religious studies department and Office of Ministry and Service invite the campus community to learn about the contemplative dimension of religious experience. The final event of the term will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in the Community Gathering room at Kiekhofer Hall. There will be a short presentation by a religious practitioner and the option to participate in contemplative exercises.
