Cornerstone Week and Inauguration celebrations continue Saturday and Sunday. All events are free, except two ticketed, sold-out concerts.

SATURDAY, MAY 18
Sesquicentennial Walkway Dedication

North Central College will formally dedicate the Sesquicentennial Walkway, a pedestrian thoroughfare through the heart of campus that opened in fall 2012.

The May 17 inauguration of Troy D. Hammond as North Central College’s 10th president takes place during Cornerstone Week, May 13-19, an annual celebration that commemorates the College’s 1870 move to Naperville from Plainfield and the laying of the cornerstone for Old Main.

The inauguration is also part of a week that includes the Last Lecture, honors ceremonies, research presentations, panel discussions, concerts, fireworks display, service project and more. Some events will be webcast live.

During Cornerstone Week at various events, several videos were shown that featured North Central College’s connection with Naperville and the many faculty, staff and community members who have made an impact on the College. North Central Pride will post daily events and activities during Cornerstone Week, which celebrates the anniversary of the College's 1870 move from Plainfield to Naperville and the laying of the cornerstone for Old Main. This year's Cornerstone Week, May 15-21, kicks off the College's yearlong Sesquicentennial Celebration.
