Kate Pope brings personal and professional experience to ELI director role

Kate Pope, director of North Central’s English Language Institute
North Central College appoints Kate Pope as director of year-round English Language Institute (ELI) to prepare students for college and university.

The summer 2013 appointment of Kate Pope as director of North Central College’s English Language Institute (ELI) was a component in launching the College’s year-round intensive English program. Designed for students whose primary language is not English, ELI prepares those students for admission to North Central and other U.S. colleges or universities.

Emily Rademaker receives academic and service awards

Emily Rademaker of Cary was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in German and Outstanding Service to Student Life awards at North Central College.

Emily “Em” Rademaker of Cary, Ill., was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in German Award and Outstanding Service to Student Life Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Rademaker is a senior majoring in German, classical civilization and sociology with minors in history and anthropology at North Central College. After graduation, she will serve in the Republic of South Africa for a 27-month assignment with the Peace Corps. She is the daughter of Dana and Linnea Rademaker and is a 2008 graduate of Cary-Grove Community High School.
