How to Apply to the ELI

Requirements for Admission:

  • You must be at least 17 years of age
  • You must have successfully completed high school/secondary school

Application Checklist:
In order to apply to the English Language Institute, students must submit the following items (additional documentation may be requested):

All Applicants:

____ Completed and signed application form
____  Copy of your passport identification page (include copies of your visa page and I-94 card if you are already in the U.S.)
____  The $100 application fee can be paid by:
  *Check made out to North Central College drawn on a U.S. or U.S-affiliate bank     OR
  *Credit card (include a completed Credit Card Payment Authorization Form)

All Students Requiring an I-20 for F-1 Student Visa Status:

Proof of Financial Support Students must demonstrate funding for the terms they plan to attend. The program cost is estimated at $7,829 per term. Students who plan to attend more than two terms must demonstrate funding for at least three academic terms, which is estimated at $23,487.

____ Personal Funds Original Bank Letter (less than 6 months old) from the Applicant's Bank
____ Family / Sponsor Original Bank Letter (less than 6 months old) AND Signed Sponsor
Affidavit of Support (Page 2 of the ELI Application Form)
____ Scholarship Official Letter from the Sponsoring Institution Stating the Specific Dates
and Amount of the Scholarship Award

F-1 Students Transferring from a U.S. Institution Must Also Submit:

____  A Transfer Verification Form completed by your current international student advisor
____ A copy of your current I-20 Form
