Tape-Recording a Lecture
When necessary, it is possible to tape-record class lectures. If a student is eligible for this accommodation, he/she is required to sign the Permission to Tape-Record Lectures form in the Academic Support Center.
The permission form is required as some professors copyright their lectures and notes in order to utilize them later. Professors may give lectures at conferences or write a book; as such, lectures are copyrighted material. By signing the permission form, a student agrees to only use the tape recording for class. Once the class has been completed, the tape must be destroyed.
