DEREE-The American College of Greece (ACG) is the oldest and largest U.S. accredited college in Europe. With 19 majors, 21 minors and more than 1,000 courses offered each year, DEREE provides plenty of courses to choose from in business, fine arts, humanities, social sciences, communication -- all taught in English. Students may also choose a course in Greek language or culture. The program includes housing two blocks from campus, 15 credit hours of instruction and monthly excursions within Greece. One of the most prestigious academic institutions in Europe, ACG draws students from Greece and 54 other countries; 85 percent of the student body comes from Greece and 15 percent comes from 54 other countries, including the United States. A scholarship through the Greek American Foundation is available.
• ACG campus is located in an Athens suburb, 20 minutes by taxi from downtown Athens.
• Campus is 40 minutes by metra/bus from downtown Athens. Student housing is right next to the metra/bus line to downtown Athens.

Junior or senior standing; GPA 3.0 preferred
Students earn 15 credit hours per semester studying at ACG. All grades earned abroad affect students North Central College GPA when transferred back. Students cannot take courses pass/fail.
Note: Students must have courses pre-approved by North Central College prior to taking them abroad. If students change their course schedules while abroad, they must get this change approved. Some departments only permit students to take a certain number of courses that count toward their major abroad; by getting all courses pre-approved, this ensures that these courses will count towards their degrees.
Housing and Meals
North Central College students live in apartments with four other international, U.S., and Greek students. The apartments are held in the building where Olympic athletes lived during training for 2004 Olympic games. The apartments are a 10 minute walk to campus and consist of two double-rooms, and shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Each apartment has a huge balcony with a beautiful view of the campus or city.
Meals: Not included in program fees. Students prepare their own meals in a shared apartment kitchen with their roommates.
Students pay North Central College tuition and room and board to the host institution. Students are personally responsible for paying airfare, health insurance, departure tax, books, extra personal travel and spending money, as these items are not included in room and board fees. North Central College financial aid does apply.
