Teaching Physical Education: K-12 Certification Program
If you like the idea of helping young people develop skills, habits and attitudes that promote health and fitness, you might consider teaching physical education as a profession. Our undergraduate K-12 certification program will prepare you to teach at the elementary, middle or secondary school level.
You’ll take courses with a strong education background as well as courses focused on a broad spectrum of quality physical education instruction. Next, you’ll have opportunities to apply what you learned in the classroom in school practicum assignments where you’ll integrate and practice your skills through field experiences.
Our faculty members work with you throughout your teaching experiences and, when you’re ready to student teach, guide you in refining your teaching techniques at some of the nation’s top public schools. Our faculty have vast experience in K-12 settings and are committed to the serious study of education and promoting professional classroom standards.
