International Business

You will earn either a B.A. or B.S. degree in international business. The international business major is an interdisciplinary area that integrates five areas of study from a global perspective: business, modern languages, history, politics, and culture. We also offer a minor in international business.

International Business Courses:

  • BUS 482 International Management
  • BUS 488 International Marketing
  • BUS 492 - Globalization, social Responsibility and Business
  • FIN 385 International Finance or ECN 340 International Economics
  • 3-6 credit hours of modern language study over and above the College requirement, with a minimum of three credit hours at the 201-level or higher
  • Nine credit hours achieved through study abroad
  • One of the following: ECN 340 International Economics or FIN 385 International Finance
  • Two of the following: GLS 492 Seminar in Global Studies, HST 330 East Asian Thought, HST 370 Seminar in Global History, PHL 344 Religion and the Political Order, SOA 363 Mayas, Aztecs and Their Neighbors, SOA 421 Indigenous Peoples and the State

Additional requirements for the B.S. degree:

  • CSC 140 Fundamentals of Computational Problem Solving or higher level CSC course
  • MTH 152 Calculus II
  • One elective beyond MTH 152 or CSC 140
  • One of: ACC 307 Cost Accounting, BUS 446 Operations Research, or ECN 445 Econometrics.

Minor Requirements:

The minor is designed for students having either a major or a minor in a foreign language or equivalent proficiency.
