North Central College invites applications from broadly trained plant ecologists or plant evolutionary biologists for a full-time tenure-track appointment to begin September 1, 2014. A Ph.D. is required, and post-doctoral experience is strongly desired. The successful candidate will teach introductory biology, botany and ecology or evolution segments of our sophomore core, and advanced courses consistent with his/her expertise in areas such as botany, plant physiology, ecology, evolution or environmental biology. There will also be opportunities to participate in our interdisciplinary environmental studies minor and in our general education curriculum. Applicants should exhibit strong potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, including a commitment to collaborative research with undergraduates that includes a field component.
