Physical Education: K-12 Certification Program
North Central College seeks applications for a full-time tenure track appointment in the Department of Health and Physical Education to begin September 1, 2014. The successful candidate will teach and will serve as Program Director for the Teaching Physical Education: K-12 Certification program. Applicants are required to hold an earned doctorate in kinesiology or physical education or a related field relevant to the required area of specialization by the time of appointment. Candidates must show evidence of effective teaching in the area of specialization, preferably at the college level and in the public schools system.
The Program Director will participate in department/college curricular and programmatic development, be responsible for oversight of the Teaching Physical Education: K-12 Certification major, and guide and conduct annual state and college-required assessment. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a research agenda, including serving as a representative of the College and program by participating in/presenting at local, state, regional, and national conferences. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the first-year experience and interdisciplinary general education programs.
