MathematicsNorth Central College seeks applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics, beginning Fall, 2013. Appointment at the assistant professor level is anticipated, though higher ranks may be considered for suitably qualified applicants. A Ph.D in mathematics or applied mathematics is required by September 1, 2013. Applicants should demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarship. Candidates must be able to teach standard undergraduate math courses, and should expect to engage students in undergraduate research projects. Applicants will have opportunities to contribute to an interdisciplinary general education program.
North Central College, founded in 1861, is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville, along the Illinois research and development corridor, with convenient Metra train access to Chicago.
