“A nice benefit of a major in finance is it’s easy to be involved in any student organization on campus because each is required to have a treasurer. There’s no limit to the opportunities available to finance majors.”
Chosen treasurer of the College Union Activity Board, Tyler manages a large budget and works with nearly every student organization on campus. “I help organizations create budgets to propose to the finance committee and I’m constantly updating and monitoring those budgets.”
Campus activities like these opened doors for Tyler to intern at the financial advising company First Investors and to work during his senior year at Zurich Insurance Group, where he gained experience in different sectors of the finance division.
“I constantly use what I’ve learned in finance to understand concepts in other subjects and at work.”
