Todd’s interest in people’s motivations and perceptions led him to major in North Central’s human resource management program.
“Work is a big part of people’s lives, so understanding what factors affect people’s attitudes and motivations in the workplace is very significant. The HR courses emphasize that knowledge of these areas can help businesses be more effective.”
The courses included business, psychology, sociology and ethics, giving students like Todd a well-rounded, interdisciplinary understanding of the issues human resource professionals face. Todd says the discussion-based classes and faculty are highlights of his North Central experience.
Todd also studied abroad in France, Italy, Germany and England during D-Terms and landed an internship at a business consulting firm near campus. “I learned the principles of effective organizations and saw how interpersonal dynamics in organizations can affect how they achieve their goals.”
