“There are so many opportunities here in leadership, from clubs, internships and campus jobs to projects and mentoring.”
Monica added a leadership minor to her education major and focused on activities that involved leadership. She connected with iLEAD for first-year students who want to develop and expand their leadership potential and became a mentor to other students. She got involved with the Next Level Mentoring program and mentored an at-risk student at an elementary school.
“The experience gave me opportunities to work with the student’s teacher, school counselor and administrator to help her achieve her full potential.”
Monica also worked as a student ambassador in admission and was accepted to the Blue Key Honor Society for students with extraordinary leadership potential.
Her next step? To earn a Master in Leadership Studies degree at North Central and either teach in an elementary school or work in higher education admission.
