Kerby has made it her mission to defend those who can’t fight for themselves.
“Someday I want to be a lawyer who takes unjust laws and remolds them to help people whose rights are being violated,” she says.
Kerby has dedicated her time to preparing for the courtroom. She has interned at two law firms, including a competitive internship studying fair housing at the prestigious John Marshall Law School. She also meets with a group of students to study for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), connect with local legal professionals and visit law schools.
Kerby plans to pursue a law degree, aided by the networking she established at North Central College.
“If it wasn’t for North Central, I wouldn’t have the connections I do today. The mentoring I received will help me greatly during the struggle and stress of law school.”
