Emma loves to perform. Since North Central presents three shows each term, the fun never stops.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute here,” she says. “My advice is to try everything in the theatre department so you know what you’re good at and what you can get better at. And don’t be picky—audition for everything! If you love to perform, why waste an opportunity to do so?”
The College’s off-campus opportunities are another reason Emma is happy she chose North Central. Through connections with theatre faculty, she’s been able to audition for some of the largest casting agencies in Chicago. And as a junior, she participated in Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
“It was considered an internship, but I really was a part of the cast. The professional actors made sure to make me feel that way, too,” she says. “I took away a lot of useful information for my professional life.”
Emma was selected to perform in North Central’s annual Senior Showcase and—as a result—was booked by a professional casting agency.
“At North Central I’ve learned that if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, the faculty will do everything they can to help you succeed,” she says.
