The North Central College Women’s Chorale presents its final concert of the season—an eclectic mix of repertoire and farewell to graduating seniors at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in Wentz Concert Hall.
For its “Finale!” concert, the Women’s Chorale celebrates the best of women’s choral music with an interesting variety of styles in Latin, English, Gaelic, Italian and Bulgarian. They also will sing selections by Irish composer/arrangers Michael McGlynn and David Downes of Celtic Woman fame, an arrangement of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek” by Liz Kelly ’12, and works by Gjeilo, Rheinberger, Hatfield, Giordano and others.
Members of the ensemble are getting ready to embark on a tour abroad to Ireland June 12-19 with stops at Dublin, Galway, Killarney and Bray and performances in historic cathedrals, including St. Patrick’s in Dublin. Along the way, the women will visit the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and the Ring of Kerry.
Tickets are $5/adults and $3/students and senior citizens; call 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
