North Central College’s department of religious studies invites students, faculty and staff to attend any or all of the series of events during winter term focusing on the contemplative dimension of human experience. Short presentations by practitioners from diverse traditions will be followed by contemplative exercises; participation in the exercises is entirely optional.
The following events will take place in Smith Hall at Old Main:
• Mindfulness Meditation: Tuesdays, Jan. 14 and Feb. 4, 4 p.m., led by Stephanie Franz from Joy Meditation
• Buddhist Meditation: Thursday, Jan. 23, 12:15 p.m., led by Kelsang Dorje from Vajrayana Kadampa Buddhist Center
• Catholic Meditation: Thursday, Feb. 13, 12:15 p.m., led by Sister Kathleen Sherman from the Sisters of St. Joseph
