This week’s top internships and law enforcement workshop April 4

Naperville Police Department: If you’ve ever considered a career in law enforcement, learn about internship possibilities and career tracks from two North Central alums at a workshop titled “From NCC to NPD” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, in WAC’s Dining Room. A sundae bar will be served. For all majors, but especially sociology, psychology, communication, chemistry, biology majors.

Christian Brothers Services: You will compose communications for magazines, newsletters, press releases and social media posts; provide status updates on assignments; and oversee publication deadlines. For English writing or journalism, communication, marketing majors.

Burgess Norton Manufacturing Company, Inc.: This Environment Health and Safety (EHS) summer internship is for a junior or senior engineering student. You will combine your coursework experience with skills and real-world experience across the manufacturing spectrum. You will update supporting compliance documentation, perform hazard/risk evaluations, improve labeling/signage, and assist manufacturing in completing safety calendars tasks. For physics, pre-engineering, management majors.

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre: You will assist in various educational programs at the theater, including student matinee performances, teacher workshops and seminars, printed and online resources, and “CPS Shakespeare,” an abridged production staged by an ensemble of Chicago public high school teachers and students. For education, theatre, English writing majors.

City of Chicago Department of Buildings: Student interns will perform various functions to support areas related to law, municipal prosecution, labor issues, environmental issues, both federal and state litigation, municipal legislation and state legislation. For political science, sociology, pre-law, environmental studies majors.
