Edelman: You will work within the public relations industry or similar experience doing client servicing, media relations, writing/editing and research; assisting with preparing press kits and writing press releases; and drafting pitch letters and/or email pitch memos to vendors. Best suited for English: writing/journalism and speech communication majors.
The Barbara Bellar for State Senate 2012 Internship Program: In this hands-on internship, you will be exposed to the daily operations of a state political campaign, including telephoning, strategizing, fund-raising and canvassing. You must log 200 service hours by November 6, 2012 (Election Day) to complete the program, and a stipend will be awarded to interns who complete this requirement. For all majors and especially political science majors.
The Ray Graham Association: You will work directly with the developmentally disabled to help empower, improve community participation, dignity and find employment. The internship will be based on your interests, with training that uses a curriculum provided by the state of Illinois. Especially for psychology, sociology and education majors.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater: As a fall education intern, your duties may include researching and writing essays, teaching activities and other materials for teacher resources, doing online research for production-related information and education programming updates. For education majors.
Metra: As an auditor intern, you will work with the Manpower Planning & Forecasting group and assist the audit department staff in carrying out audits, reviews and compliance work. Best suited for accounting and finance majors.
