North Central College and Naperville Community Television (NCTV17) have teamed up to bring viewers a variety of Cardinal athletic contests all winter along, including men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling.
Games and matches will stream live on channel 17 and at nctv17.com.
Starting this Saturday, Jan. 5, viewers can watch the Cardinal men’s and women’s basketball teams online as they take on CCIW rival Wheaton College. At 5 p.m. the ladies face the Thunder and at 7 p.m. the men take the court. North Central alumnus and NCTV17 sports reporter Justin Zipser ’11 will provide play-by-play for each game.
Of course, fans are encouraged to watch the teams compete in person in Gregory Arena.
For the first time in its 111-year history, the Cardinals men’s basketball team is the No. 1-ranked NCAA Division III program in the nation, taking the top spot in this week’s Top 25 Poll released by D3hoops.com. The Cardinals closed nonconference play with a perfect record of 11-0 and won their conference opener and are off to the second-best start in the program’s history and its third-longest winning streak. North Central opened the season with 12 straight wins in 2005-2006 and put together a 14-game winning streak during the 1989-1990 campaign.
If you miss the games, NCTV17 also provides highlights at nctv17.com.
