North Central College sports information director Clark Teuscher has been selected as one of this year's winners in the Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The contest, open to sports information and athletics media relations departments at colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada, recognizes individuals for excellence in feature writing, historical features, administrator/coach profiles and event coverage writing. Entries are judged on overall writing style, correct use of English, inventiveness, written presentation and the ease with which the reader acquires the information. Eligible entries in the competition were published during the 2010 calendar year.
Teuscher was selected as the District 5 winner for event coverage for his recap of North Central's victory at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Track & Field Championships. CoSIDA's District 5 includes all collegiate institutions in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota, as well as the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Manitoba.
CoSIDA was founded in 1957 and currently is a 2,700-plus member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, communications and information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. More information can be found at cosida.com.
