Erik Bock, a North Central student-at-large who’s taking statistics and management courses this summer, was featured in the news after rescuing a young teen from the flooded waters of the DuPage River July 27. Police said it appeared five teens were playing in the river at Knoch Knolls Park when one of them was carried away on a raft. Bock heard screams while doing yard work at his parents’ home in Naperville and waded into the nearby rushing water to free the teen.
Bock hopes to complete his studies at Notre Dame University in three years plus a summer. His father, Brian Bock, is vice president for sales and marketing for DuKane Precast, the major supplier for Res/Rec Center, Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, the Fine Arts Center and other projects.
