The fine arts department is offering a special ticket price of $10/person for faculty and staff to attend an inspirational concert by the world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, in Wentz Concert Hall.
The Harlem Gospel Choir is a gathering of the finest singers and musicians from various black churches in Harlem. The choir travels the globe, sharing its joy of faith through its music and, whenever possible, raising funds for children’s charities. In addition, the choir has performed with Bono and U2, Sir Elton John, Pope John Paul II, Diana Ross, Jimmy Cliff and many others, and on “Good Morning America” from Times Square in New York City as part of a tribute to Michael Jackson the day of his funeral, for 60,000 people at Pope Benedict XVI’s Concert of Hope at Yankee Stadium, and on the “Oprah Winfrey Show.”
