Admission to the second annual Sounds of New Music Festival is free for North Central students, faculty and staff. Performances begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12 in Wentz Concert Hall.
Tonight’s performance features the Bugallo Williams Piano Duo and Thursday evening showcases the Bang On a Can All-Stars.
In the past week the Chicago Sun-Times said “The New York City-based Bang on a Can All-Stars are distinguished pacesetters on the classical new music scene. For the past 20 years, they have been ignoring artificial boundaries between the pop and classical fields,” and Chicago Tribune classical music writer John von Rhein declared them “virtuosos of new music” in his “Classical Corner” column.
The All-Stars will perform Brian Eno's "Music for Airports" along with works by co-founders Michael Gordon and Evan Ziporyn and others. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience free world-class entertainment in a spectacular concert hall!
