NCC’s Best, the business arm of North Central College’s SIFE, presents Mother’s Day alternative gift events on Wednesday and Friday, May 9 and 11. All members of the campus community are invited to show appreciation for your mom this Mother’s Day, while making a difference for moms around the globe, by shopping at these alternative gift events on campus:
• Wednesday, May 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 116 S. Brainard House (aka SOA house)
• Friday, May 11, 7 p.m. at The Union event, 129 W. Benton Ave.
All of the products for purchase were sustainably and fairly made by women or mothers in support of their families. Featured products include scarves woven by Francisca of the Campana Ab’aj textile cooperative, textiles from Los Escudos (“Shield”) Textiles and wooden household products from Costa Rica. Organic and fair trade chocolate and SIFE’s Conscious Bean Coffee from Guatemala will be available for purchase and to sample. Payment by cash or check.
One of SIFE’s partner groups, Beads of Hope, will also be participating.
