North Central College is proud to kick off its yearlong Sesquicentennial celebration with special activities starting this May during Cornerstone week and the launch of dedicated pages on the College’s website. From the College’s homepage, select the red button and Sesquicentennial logo, 150 Years: A Promising Start. It’s your window to North Central’s 2011-2012 Sesquicentennial celebration.
Among the many things you can access and view on the site is a 12-minute trailer of the College’s history. North Central College is working with Naperville Community Television to produce a five-part documentary DVD outlining the history of the College. Full segments are slated for production in May, September and November 2011, and in spring and summer 2012.
Other buttons on the page include opportunities to submit your North Central memories, reserve the College’s new history book co-authored by Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History Ann Durkin Keating and Professor Emeritus of History Pierre Lebeau, view brief videos of Sesquicentennial moments, visit the Archives and give a gift.
You’ll also notice a list of Sesquicentennial highlights and links to North Central’s commemorative books and Legacy of Science page, which lists noted alumni in the sciences with links to their profiles.
To kick off the yearlong celebration, special campuswide festivities are planned during Cornerstone week, May 15-21. Event details for this week and other activities will be posted to northcentralcollege.edu/150 in the future.
