Oesterle Library was awarded
two grants:
• Explorations into Teaching & Learning: Peace, Conflict and Social Justice as part of the CARLI (Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois) “Collections Enhancement Awards Program: Collection Partnerships.” Oesterle Library was awarded $3,000 to develop “Peace/Justice/Conflict Issues Explored Through Children’s/ Young Adult Literature.”
• Sixty books from the Nippon Foundation’s “100 Books for Understanding Contemporary Japan” grant. To facilitate understanding of Japan overseas, the Foundation produced a catalogue detailing 100 carefully selected books that provide information on contemporary Japan in the English language and began donating these books to libraries interested in Japan.
