Diane Anstine—associate professor and chair of economics, Ruge Fellow and Faculty Athletic Representative—was selected as a 2010 NCAA Division III Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) Fellow and will be attending the Division III FAR Fellows Institute in October. She was selected from more than 450 FARs in Division III schools nationwide.
Anstine was nominated by CCIW’s commissioner because of her work at North Central and its faculty mentor program and her leadership and work within the conference and NCAA. For more than five years, she’s been the College’s faculty athletic representative to the NCAA and works with members of the athletic department on NCAA-related issues.
In her work with the CCIW, she has served as the CCIW representative to an NCAA Division III Virtual Focus Group, which provides feedback to the NCAA about various Division III issues. She’s also been a contributor to the FAR meetings and served on its Eligibility Committee. She’s been an advocate of North Central’s faculty mentor program and actively shared the initiative to help fellow conference schools.
